There Are No Healers, Only Instruments
Jul 21, 2026
One of the natural forces we are invited to witness in creation is healing.
If we pay attention, we can see that everything, absolutely everything, knows how to regenerate itself. Nature constantly reminds us of this. A tree heals after being damaged. The earth restores itself after a storm. Life is always moving toward balance.
The same intelligence exists within us.
Healing is one of the primary principles of life.
Perhaps we have simply forgotten it.

The Memory of Healing
Our being contains the memory of natural healing.
Think about what happens if you accidentally hit your head. Almost instantly, your hands move toward the place that hurts. If another part of your body is in pain, your hands naturally go there.
It seems like an involuntary reaction, but this is our own will, the intelligence that lives within us, reminding every part of our body that healing is possible.
Everything that exists has the capacity to heal and to be healed.
If we cut ourselves, our body already knows what to do.
There are blood cells that know where they come from, where they are going, and what to do. They know what their purpose is.
That is consciousness.
Every part of our body carries this natural intelligence.
The Power That Flows Through Us
Many people have heard Reiki described as a universal energy that flows through all of creation.
It is also within us.
Those who truly understand Reiki say something very simple:
"I am not the one who heals. I am simply an instrument."
The power that heals is love. Love is everywhere and in everything.
When we open ourselves with humility, we become a channel through which that love can flow: to another person, an animal, a plant, or even an object.
And we are also given an important instruction: Don't interfere.
The moment our ego appears and says,
"I will heal you…” or “Wow I am healing this person"
something changes.
We begin using our own limited energy instead of allowing ourselves to become a channel for something infinitely greater.
The other person may still feel better. But we end up exhausted, and sometimes even sick.
The Difference Between Ego and Humility
This is why awakening our consciousness is so important.
If what we truly want is well-being for everyone, we begin recognizing that there is already a power flowing through all of creation.
Our ego always wants to appear first. It wants to be the one doing, saving, and healing. But the satisfaction it brings is temporary.
Humility is different. Humility gives us energy.
It reminds us that we are not here to save the world.
That is simply the ego trying to make itself important.
Nothing needs to be saved, because there is nothing separate from the love that already sustains all of creation.
When we feel that we must save someone, we are forgetting that the universe already knows what it is doing.
This doesn't mean we stop helping. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. We serve but we do so peacefully. Without pretension or everything that depends on us. Simply out of love.
When we suffer another person's pain, we are not helping them. Their suffering is only multiplied.
True healing asks something different of us. It asks us to become a multiplier of peace.
Love Is the Healer
As our understanding expands, something beautiful begins to happen.
The same force we call Reiki, the force of pure love, flows through us without interference.
And when that happens, not only does healing reach others...It also leaves us full of vitality.
This is why someone can offer Reiki to dozens of people and finish the day feeling deeply energized.
If we leave feeling depleted, perhaps it is because somewhere, our ego stepped in and used its own energy.
The invitation is to recognize something much greater.
Love is already doing Reiki on all of creation.
On every tree, every mountain, every person, every atom and every star.
The entire universe is continuously being touched by this healing intelligence.
When we begin to witness life this way, a miracle unfolds.
We begin to recognize that the one seeing through our eyes is love.
The one speaking through our words is love.
The one acting through our hands is love.
The one thinking through our thoughts is love.
And then we understand the primary principle of healing.
There are no healers. There are only instruments of the Great Healer, who is Love.
And so Shamans exist, Gurus exist, Doctors exist…everything that exists, exists because love is taking it as its instrument.
Perhaps this is one of the greatest invitations of our life:
To consciously consecrate ourselves as instruments of love.
A SEED TO CARRY
Everything that exists has the power of healing and of being healed.
The same love that moves through all of creation also moves through us.
May we learn to trust that power, and humbly offer ourselves as its instruments.
