Alex grew up in a small town in the mountains of Colombia, in a deeply traditional Catholic family. One of fourteen children born to the same mother and father,
he was raised with very little in terms of material comfort and with an
abundance of values.Â
His parents were country folk who never learned to read or write, and taught their children how to live with dignity: honesty, responsibility, respect, and devotion to family. At seven years old, Alex was working on the streets to help bring food home.
Poverty was real. Hunger was real. And so was love, expressed not through words,
but through example.
As a teenager, Alex rebelled against everything.
Religion. Politics. Institutions. Systems.Â
He became outspoken, critical, and eventually, an atheist.
What he didn’t yet have words for was that his rebellion
wasn’t against God, it was against separation. Against a world
that felt hollow, unjust, and disconnected from something
essential. His soul was searching for freedom, for truth,
for something real.

In that moment, he remembered his call.
And he understood: this was the answer.Â
Life didn’t change overnight. But something fundamental had shifted. Not long after, Alex was invited to his first ceremony on the Red Road, the Path of the Heart.
During that first ceremony, something unexpected happened. The leader asked Alex to come and sit in his place — something that is rarely done. He handed him a feather fan and instructed to look through the feathers into the fire.Â
In that moment, something deep awakened.
Alex recognized, without doubt or explanation, that he had been part of this path forever. It wasn’t a discovery, it was a return. The elder welcomed him back, recognizing him as well. Â
He had come home.
In that moment, he remembered his call. And he understood: this was the answer.Â

Laura has always been fascinated by the human spirit.  From a young age, she felt drawn to spirituality, prayer and questions about God and existence.
As a teenager, she attended women’s circles with her mother, and went to her first Ayahuasca ceremony while still in high school. Curiously, the shaman was from Colombia, her native land. That experience showed her the intricate design of creation, and the presence of a vast intelligence rooted in love and wisdom. Her spiritual life deepened from there.
By her late teens she was diving deeply into spirituality through years of ceremony and travel with the Santo Daime church and indigenous elders from the rainforest.
At the same time, she pursued formal education, studying Psychology and Religious Studies at the University of Virginia, seeking to understand the mind and spirit as a gateway to deeper truth.

Laura has always been fascinated by the human spirit.  From a young age, she felt drawn to spirituality, prayer and questions about God and existence.

Along the way, she was also healing. Growing up, love was earned through achievement and good behavior. This planted a quiet sense of unworthiness, expressed through overachieving and self-sacrifice.Â
Her spiritual path became the space where those layers began to fall away. Not through rejection of the past, but through gratitude, understanding and compassion. She came to recognize life as a sacred gift: meant to be lived, celebrated, laughed through, and shared.

One evening, she arrived at a Red Road gathering she had almost skipped.
Alex, too, had nearly stayed home. (yes, like the movies LOL)
Instead, everything aligned.
We met that night.
The intention guiding the ceremony was praying for family — something we would only fully understand years later, after building a family of our own.

Two weeks after graduating from university, Laura traveled to Colombia to visit family. Already deeply committed to her spiritual path, she sought out ceremonies while she was there.

Sharing publicly required discernment, especially for Alex, who felt a deep responsibility to protect what had been entrusted to him.
When Alex’s family reflected back the clarity his words had offered them — and asked why he wouldn’t share that more widely — the answer became clear.
Everything we offer is rooted in sincerity and love. We are not here to convince, convert, or perform spirituality. We share what has genuinely helped us live with more peace, clarity and harmony.
Ancestral Wisdom isn’t about belief.
It’s about learning how to live well again.
The impact was clear.
